HISTORY
| I have been in business since 1996 doing embroidery work on my Memory 9000. I was doing a lot of embroidering on items for a lot of customers. In 1997, I attended a Fall Fling craft show at the Winner 4H Center during Hunting Season. There was a Hunter's Breakfast being held at the same time. That day I thought I would just take my machine and few pheasant related items to sell. I wanted to finish a vest that I was making by putting on some birds. I happen to be making the pheasant when a hunter came by to see what I had in my booth. He saw that I was making a pheasant, and asked if I could put him on the shirt he had on. I said, "Yes." He said, "How much." I said, "I only charge ten cents per minute." The design only takes nine minutes so the charge would be ninety cents. He took his shirt off and I started embroidering the pheasant on his shirt. Other hunters were walking by and asked me if I could do theirs. "Of course, I can" They, too, took off their shirts. One asked if I could do allot in one day. I said, "Yes." They went to their place of lodging and they brought back shirts. Some went up town and bought shirts and sweat shirts. I was busy till Tuesday and this was only Saturday. I then realized that maybe since it was a going thing that I would start looking for a commercial machine so I could do more in a short period of time. I looked for the right machine for a whole year and then in October of 1998, I purchased a Happy commercial machine. The business tripled in three months of 1998, and in 1999 it tripled again. Some of the hunters that had me do the small pheasant in 1997, had called me to see if he could have the small pheasant put on some more of their shirts. I said, yes, but I can do them bigger and better now as I have gone with a bigger commercial machine." I am ready to expand my business to a larger facility on Main Street, as I am operating out of my home at the present time. I have outgrown my basement. And of course, I don't charge ten cents per minute anymore. |
