MAGAZINE SAYS SOUTH DAKOTA IS BEST STATE FOR
BUSINESS
The November, 1994 issue of Biz declares South Dakota
to be the best state for business. The national business magazine
says South Dakota's manufacturing and construction sectors are "red hot",
referring to statistics such as the state adding 10,100 manufacturing jobs
in the last five years and having a 34% increase in construction employment.
The magazine also ranked Sioux Falls fourth and Rapid
City 21st in a list of small and medium sized cities with consistently
low unemployment. Sioux Falls had an average unemployment of 2.6%
in 1994.
