ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Catherine J. Petersen works with C J Petersen & Associates, LLC, which is a consulting firm that has worked with a variety of firms and organizations.  She specializes in training individuals in companies who prepare export or import quotations, develop contracts for foreign sales, prepare export documentation, assure compliance with the Export Administration Regulations, and need to understand the intricacies of working with carriers and forwarders.  In conjunction with the training sessions, two books have been co-authored by Catherine Petersen, president of C J Petersen & Associates, LLC, and George Thompson of Neville.  A third was co-authored with Brent Primus of Primus Law Office.  These books profile export documentation, procedures, regulations, transportation and trade terms as it pertains to U.S. exporters and importers.  Catherine has been a Licensed Customs Broker since 2005.

Mary McCormick is a sole Practitioner and Principal of McCormick International, specializing in international business law.  She has thirty-one years of international legal experience spanning more than forty countries.  She has set-up numerous international wholly-owned entities, agencies, distributorships and joint ventures, and drafted and negotiated international sales and license agreements.  She chaired a cross-functional international operations team for six years. 

Michael F. Howard is the Midwest Regional Director of the Business Development Division of the Export - Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank), a full faith and credit U.S. government agency.  Ex-Im Bank's mission is to promote exports of U.S. goods and services through a variety of programs including an Export Credit Insurance program, a Loan and Guarantee program and a Working Capital program.  Michael has served on many advisory councils and committees on international financing for small business and is one of the authors of the Florida Export Finance Corporation.

Nancy J. Libersky has been employed by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for eighteen years.  She is the Regional Manager for International Trade Finance Programs, with primary responsibility of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.  Nancy has a finance and business development background with small business.  Her primary focus is to provide technical assistance and government guaranteed finance programs to small business owners who are seeking to expand sales through exports.  She works directly with trade associations, small businesses, Chambers of Commerce and lenders to name a few.  She conducts workshops and seminars to start-up and growing businesses, and is an adjunct instructor for Saint Paul College, teaching "International Cultural Communication in the Global Workplace", "International Marketing" and "International Finance".  Nancy is a member of several trade associations promoting the global market place, as well as the Minnesota District Export Council.

The cost for each workshop is $35 ($100 if you register for all four workshops by July 17, 2008); College students and faculty are $25 per workshop.  A certificate of completion will be granted to those who complete all four workshops!
