Prices

     Old fashioned, no chemicals, natural, organic, free range and pastured are a few adjectives to describe specialty meat products in the food chain.  Foods raised in any of these manners are more costly to produce than those raised "commercially".  For example: Our birds reach market weight at eight - nine weeks compared to six - seven for most birds in supermarkets raised on hot rations and in confinement.

Low Fat Poultry

     Most of the poultry we raised in the USA is raised in confinement.  Our birds are allowed to range free and get plenty of exercise which firms the muscles and keeps fat off.  We also feed a high fiber ration which prevents fat accumulation.
     SDSU Lab results show our free ranging chickens have 12% fat content compared with 20% for a supermarket model!
     Roast at a low temperature of 325 degrees for best results.

 

Fuel Surcharge

    
We aren't increasing our prices to cover the dramatic increase in the price of diesel.  It wouldn't be fair to the customers who drive to the farm!  So, we will charge a 50 cent surcharge for each purchase away from the farm.

     Would you believe that burgers could contain less than 5% fat?  According to the SDSU Nutrition Lab, our chicken patties do.  We make them out of de-boned meats from our low fat, free ranging chickens.
     How do you think we season the patties?  Would you believe we use fresh garden products?

NEWS FLASH... FOR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION....

GOOSEMOBILE PEOPLE TO HOME DELIVER!!
During the past twenty-four years the customers have faithfully been coming to the Goosemobile from May through December to get their 100% naturally raised poultry and other meats.  Cold weather would severely restrict such activity during the winter months so in the past product was not available from Christmas until the beginning of the Downtown Farmers Market on May 1st.

Motivated by significant inquiries as to how they may get Goosemobile products during the winter months, it has been decided to provide home deliveries in Sioux Falls area until May.  Simply phone, mail, or e-mail (goosedown@unitelsd.com) your order and we will deliver on Saturday mornings.

Convenience Products:  Try our chicken patties, not breaded; only fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs added to breast and thigh meat.  The pork brats and links are mostly fresh ham meat.  All of the above are low in fat.

We often ask customers why they buy from the Goosemobile?  The following statement of one person pretty well summarizes most replies:  "In the store you have no idea where in the world the meat comes from, how it was raised and what it was fed."  Goosemobile meats can be traced to South Dakota family farms where natural husbandry is practiced.  You are welcome to check us out.
